2024 Mazda CX-5

The 2024 Mazda CX-5 has eight trims: the 2.5 S, 2.5 S Select, 2.5 S Preferred, 2.5 S Carbon Edition, 2.5 S Premium Plus, 2.5 Carbon Turbo, 2.5 Turbo Premium, and 2.5 Turbo Signature. The 2.5 S trim features 17-inch Gray Metallic aluminum alloy wheels with 225/65 R17 all-season tires. LED headlights with automatic on/off functionality and daytime running lights are standard across the lineup, as are body-colored power side mirrors with LED turn signals.

The Carbon Edition and Carbon Turbo add 19-inch black metallic aluminum alloy wheels and Polymetal Gray exterior paint. The Premium Plus, Turbo Premium, and Turbo Signature include an adaptive front-lighting system with automatic leveling. The Turbo Signature distinguishes itself with a chrome front grille featuring a gloss black finish. A power sliding-glass moonroof with an interior sunshade is optional on the Preferred trim and higher. The SUV's deeply sloped roofline and available multispoke polished/painted aluminum wheels complete its sophisticated appearance.

The 2.5 S, 2.5 S Select, 2.5 S Preferred, 2.5 S Carbon Edition, and 2.5 S Premium Plus trims feature a 2.5-liter SKYACTIV-G four-cylinder engine with 187 horsepower and 186 pound-feet of torque. It incorporates cylinder deactivation technology to enhance fuel efficiency. The 2.5 Carbon Turbo, 2.5 Turbo Premium, and 2.5 Turbo Signature trims have a 2.5-liter SKYACTIV-G Dynamic Pressure Turbo engine, producing 227 horsepower on regular fuel or 256 horsepower with premium fuel and 310 pound-feet of torque.

All trims have a SKYACTIV-Drive six-speed automatic transmission with manual shift and Sport modes. i-ACTIV AWD with Off-road Traction Assist distributes torque to optimize traction in various driving conditions.

The turbocharged CX-5 models accelerate from 0 to 60 mph in 6.2 seconds, while nonturbo variants complete the sprint in 8.2 seconds. The G-Vectoring Control Plus system adjusts engine torque in response to steering inputs, enhancing cornering stability and handling. Nonturbo models earn EPA estimates of 24 mpg city and 30 mpg highway, while turbo variants get 22 mpg city and 27 mpg highway.

Mazda Intelligent Drive Select switches between Normal, Sport, and Off-Road modes depending on the road conditions. A 36-foot turning circle enhances maneuverability, while 7.6 inches of ground clearance ensures smooth handling on diverse terrain.

All trims boast a 10.25-inch center display with Mazda Connect. The 2.5 S and 2.5 S Select include an eight-speaker audio system, while Preferred and higher trims upgrade to a Bose 10-speaker system. A leather-wrapped steering wheel and shift knob are standard. The Carbon Edition and Carbon Turbo feature a red leather interior with red stitching, while the Turbo Signature showcases Nappa leather-trimmed seats and genuine layered wood trim.

The Preferred trim and higher have heated front seats, and the Premium Plus, Turbo Premium, and Turbo Signature add a ventilation function. The interior offers 133.6 cubic feet of cargo volume, with 30.8 cubic feet of space behind the rear seats, expanding to 59.3 cubic feet with the rear seats folded. Wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto integration are standard, and the Premium Plus and higher add a head-up display.

The i-ACTIVSENSE safety suite equips every CX-5 with Mazda Radar Cruise Control with Stop & Go, Advanced Smart City Brake Support with Day and Night-time Pedestrian Detection, and lane departure warning with lane-keep assist. Blind-spot monitoring with rear cross-traffic alert and driver attention alert are also standard. The Turbo Signature adds a 360-degree view monitor with front and rear parking sensors. Premium Plus, Turbo Premium, and Turbo Signature trims include traffic sign recognition and adaptive front-lighting systems.’
